Happy New Year to all who love our Creator Yahweh and live by His timetable, the calendar in the heavens! New Year in April?? Based on the calendar in the heavens, yes! The Creator of the heavens and the earth, Almighty Yahweh, does not begin His year in the dead of winter as man does. Yahweh’s year begins in the spring when new life starts to bud and blossom (Exodus 12:2). The new crescent moon was sighted this evening in conjunction with the aviv (barley) in Israel signaling to Yahweh’s people that a new year has begun.
Fourteen days from now will mark the day Israel traditionally sacrificed their Passover lambs. More importantly, however, is that on that same day (Aviv 14) almost 2,000 years ago, Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) was voluntarily sacrificed for the sins of the world. It is through his shed blood that our sins can be forgiven and through his resurrection from the dead that we have a hope of eternal life. Those who believe in him as their Master and Savior will be resurrected from the dead as he was and will live forever in his Kingdom on Earth.
If you have not repented of your sins and received Yeshua as your Savior for the forgiveness of those sins, I encourage you to do so now and truly begin a new life in him. What better way can one begin a new year?
