Yeshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ), the Son of our Creator Yahweh, resurrected from the dead almost 2,000 years ago. Almighty Yahweh has given all those who put their faith in His Son for their salvation a hope of being resurrected from the dead as well.
King David wrote the following words in Psalm 16:9-10;
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
For you will not leave my soul in hell (the grave); neither will you suffer your Holy One to see corruption.
This was an obscure passage to many until its true fulfillment came through the resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah. The Apostle Peter gave it’s true meaning in the Book of Acts.
You men of Israel, hear these words; Yeshua of Nazareth, a man approved of [Elohim/God] among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which Elohim [God] did by him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know:
Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of [Elohim], you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
Whom [Elohim] has raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held of it. For David speaks concerning him, I foresaw Yahweh always before my face, for He is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:
Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
Because you will not leave my soul in hell (the grave), neither will you suffer your Holy One to see corruption.
You have made known to me the ways of life; you shall make me full of joy with your countenance.
Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us unto this day.
Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that [Elohim] had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Messiah to sit on his throne;
He seeing this before spoke of the resurrection of Messiah, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. This Yeshua has [Elohim] raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. (Acts 2:22-32)
Yeshua was the first man to be resurrected from the dead unto eternal life. There are other references to people being raised from the dead in Scripture, but none who were raised unto eternal life as Yeshua was.
That Messiah should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should show light unto the people, and to the Gentiles. (Acts 26:23)
But now is Messiah risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Messiah shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Messiah the firstfruits; afterward they that are Messiah’s at his coming. (1 Corinthians 15:20-23)
Messiah Yeshua was only the first person to be resurrected from the dead unto eternal life. When he returns from heaven many more people (those who belong to Yeshua through faith in him) will resurrect from the dead.
Here is what the prophet Daniel wrote concerning this resurrection;
And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which stands for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. (Daniel 12:1-2)
Yeshua spoke of this resurrection as well.
I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this? (John 11:25-26)
Truly, truly, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of [Elohim]: and they that hear shall live. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:25; 28-29)
Everyone that ever lived will be resurrected from the dead. You will either be resurrected unto everlasting life or everlasting shame, contempt and damnation. Which group will you be in?
Here is how the Eternal Judge will decide which group to place you in.
The resurrection to everlasting life –
For [Elohim] so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which sees the Son, and believes on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:40)
And this is the record, that [Elohim] has given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that has the Son has life; (1 John 5:11-12a)
The resurrection to damnation –
He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of [Elohim].
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:18-19)
He that has the Son has life; and he that has not the Son of [Elohim] has not life. (1 John 5:12)
The way to eternal life is very simple. It is through believing in Yeshua the Messiah for salvation.
Yeshua said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
Sadly, some people do not believe in a resurrection. The Sadducees, a religious sect in the time of Yeshua were among those who did not believe.
The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him, saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh. And last of all the woman died also.
Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
Yeshua answered and said unto them, You do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of [Elohim]. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of [Elohim] in heaven.
But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have you not read that which was spoken unto you by [Elohim], saying,
I am the [Elohim] of Abraham, and the [Elohim] of Isaac, and the [Elohim] of Jacob? [Elohim] is not the [Elohim] of the dead, but of the living.
And when the multitude heard this, they were astonished at his doctrine. (Matthew 22:23-33)
Are you among those who err, not knowing the Scriptures? Now you know at least the Scriptures given above. How will you choose? Will you believe on the Master Yeshua the Messiah so he can resurrect your dead body unto everlasting life, or will you choose to not believe and face everlasting shame, contempt and condemnation?
Here are some closing Scriptures to help you in your decision.
And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Yeshua, and for the word of [Elohim], and which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Messiah a thousand years.
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of [Elohim] and of Messiah, and shall reign with him a thousand years. (Revelation 20:4-6)
Only those who are Messiah’s will be resurrected in the first resurrection unto everlasting life. The fate of those resurrected after the thousand years is uncertain.
But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Yeshua from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Messiah from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwells in you. (Romans 8:11)
After a person believes in Messiah Yeshua as Master and Savior, he is given the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Without it there can be no resurrection unto everlasting life.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Yeshua Messiah for the remission (forgiveness) of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as Yahweh our [Elohim] shall call. (Acts 2:38-39)
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of [Elohim] is eternal life through Yeshua Messiah our Master. (Romans 6:23)
Believe on Yeshua, dear friend, and you shall experience the joy of eternal life after death.
