This blog will be a short and simple explanation of the “Gospel” or the “good news” proclaimed in the Bible.
Almighty Yahweh created the heavens and the earth and then created mankind to inhabit it. We were to love and obey our Creator as a child would his father, but we didn’t. Our first parents, Adam and Eve, sinned by breaking Yahweh’s command causing a separation between man and his Creator. Sin brought the death penalty upon all mankind for all of us have sinned. The consequence of sin is death (Romans 6:23). This broken relationship with our Creator and Heavenly Father would continue until the appointed time for Yahweh’s incredible plan for saving mankind would come to pass.
Yahweh sent His only begotten Son, Yeshua (Jesus), the promised Jewish Messiah, to save us by taking our sins and death penalty upon himself. He died in our place and provided a way for us to be restored to full fellowship with our Creator. All who receive Yeshua as their Savior are forgiven of all their sins and receive the gift of eternal life.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of [Yahweh] is eternal life through Yeshua Messiah our Lord. Romans 6:23
It is Yahweh’s grace (unmerited favor) through faith in His Son that saves us. As recipients of His grace and forgiveness, our hearts are filled with love for Him and Yeshua for what they have done for us. We, then, obey our Heavenly Father out of love for Him. If we sin again by breaking His commands, we can ask for forgiveness through Yeshua and be cleansed of all our sins.
Those who believe in Yeshua look for him to return in the near future to set up his Kingdom on earth. It will be a Kingdom ruled with love and truth. There will be no corrupt leaders in the Kingdom. Eventually there will be no suffering, tears or death in the Kingdom. Those who choose not to believe in Yeshua and receive the forgiveness of their sins through him will not be granted eternal life in his Kingdom. They will remain eternally separated from their Creator. A sad fate indeed. May you be among those who have a glorious fate awaiting them through Yeshua.
